Recipe for Recalibration
In today’s world of rapid change and all the hype around AI changing us as humans, I share this perspective as an offering for us to slow down, take a deep breath, and look at what stories we are choosing to take on that may not be our own.
From our point of physical birth we use our core five senses to take in all the knowledge we will use to create our stories. We see with our eyes, hear with our ears, smell with our nose, taste with our mouth, and touch with our hands and toes. If any of these core senses are not fully operational, we turn to other senses to help us learn. Regardless of what senses we are relying on, the outcomes may be similar–whose stories are we living?
Let’s use the concept of a recipe to expand this conversation. Someone creates a new recipe and then publishes it for us to replicate in our kitchens. We may have had the opportunity to taste it in person or most likely we have watched a video or seen it on a cooking show. Two interesting things happen in this space, if we have tasted it and enjoyed it, we want to replicate it. If we have watched it online or some other remote means, we rely on our expectations to lead us towards the outcome that may or may not meet these expectations. Disappointment could appear if it does not taste the same or does not align with what we were hoping for. These same concepts can be applied to our lives if we are living someone else’s story.
Continuing with the recipe, we read the list of ingredients, make a list to go shopping if we don't have all that is needed, follow the instructions, and hope it turns out like we have seen either on-line or in-person. Again, it will either satisfy our expectations or potentially lead to the disappointment I mentioned. If we break this down, we have to look at all of the pieces of the recipe. The ingredients may not exactly match due to the fact that the food was grown in a different environment, such as fresh vegetables or fruits. The seasonings might be a different brand and we all know each has their own special sauce, so to speak. For example, why are there so many different brands of potato chips that offer three or four ingredients, potatoes, oil, salt, and maybe natural flavorings? The difference is the brand and what they are choosing for their ingredients. How were the potatoes grown and who grew them? Where the salt comes from, etc. What about the energy of the people who are involved in the entire supply chain process? Are their intentions to offer something unique and filled with love or are they only interested in profit? Are we tasting the ingredients or are we tasting the brand because of our conditioning and adopting their story?
The story, or the recipe in this case, is not the one you need to live or try to replicate. The opportunity is to reconnect with yourself and create new stories that are personal and from you. Using energetic frequencies and thoughts, we can rewrite the stories that we most resonate with and learn that we have the ingredients to make our own recipes without copying or mimicking what we have learned over the course of our lifetime.
Shifting our beliefs is one way to start and as we witness the changes that come from creating our own stories, we may notice how we are able to live from within. We take someone else’s recipe and have a choice to make it exactly like they did, knowing it cannot be the same no matter what–different measurements, different brands of ingredients, different pinch of this, etc. and different energies when making it–our thoughts and emotions transfer into the recipe.
We also have a choice to modify it to our preferences such as changing out some ingredients to make it vegan-friendly or substitute what is available. This is the same as the story we inherited, are we going to take what we were taught and try to live to someone else’s expectations or recipes. Or are we going to a) modify the inherited story to make it our own or b) create our own story or recipe from scratch? If we use the same experiences, i.e, ingredients, then we are making the soup from what we already know. If we embrace new experiences, we have the opportunity to create new beliefs, new stories or recipes, and new realities or outcomes. A recipe is taking experiences and blending them to create a desired outcome. Same as our desired realities. Why don’t we choose to create our own recipe? Afraid of failure if it doesn’t taste right, afraid that someone else has more knowledge than us, afraid of curiosity.
In a world of do it yourself (DIY), we are going to be presented with DIY with our own health. Insurance is fading away, doctors are already offering VIP access by paying an extra fee to see them, waitlists are a year long sometimes. We do not have a year to wait to be healed, just like we don’t have a long time to make something to eat, especially if it is a recipe that requires ingredients and time to make.
All of these questions are similar to our healthcare providers, our chefs, our recipes, our living.
Additionally, are we going to accept AI creating our stories or are we going to have the courage to use AI as the tool it is and not allow it to shape who we are. We took on the hype when we were born and now we have a choice to choose a path that follows the hype or a path that we create as we expand our consciousness.
We need to take a whole view of ourselves and be willing to be curious enough to change the recipe and not accept the story we have inherited.
